The Greek Minister (Sicilianos) to the Secretary of State
Excellency: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of June 8, enclosing a statement of the amount due from the Greek Government up to July 1, 1935,25 under the provisions of Part I of the Debt Agreement of May 10, 1929, and of the Moratorium Agreement of May 24, 1932.
The Greek Government has taken note with appreciation of the renewed assurance of the United States Government to discuss, through diplomatic channels, their proposals in regard to the settlement of the debts.
The Greek Government wish to state that they will resume negotiations whenever circumstances will indicate satisfactory results, the situation at the present time not being, to their regret, appropriate for the resumption of discussions.
