215. State of highest confusion prevails in Evangelical Church affairs. Kerrl under party pressure seems to be turning strongly against Confessional group. Secret police forbade last Friday reopening of Confessional Seminary and Propaganda Ministry interfering with church press to such an extent that even new “neutral committees” have protested and it is not impossible they may resign. Confessional authorities demanding retirement of Reichsbishop Müller and two radical German Christian bishops and are understood to be discussing advisability of calling a fourth national synod.
Schacht25 has now publicly intimated imminence of restrictions on Jewish businesses but in accordance with previous standpoint has forbidden interference pending promulgation of new regulations.
