212. Foreign Office has just furnished me with copy of statement dated December 6, signed by Sorenson and Stadin of the American mission, Dessie, and by four other doctors at Dessie describing air raid essentially as reported in my 211, December 7, 3 p.m. They add that surgical tent of the ambulance number 2 about 200 meters from hospital was also hit and completely destroyed. They emphasize fact that hospital buildings and ambulances were clearly marked with red crosses and they protest to civilized world against “this atrocious cruel demonstration which is contrary to all conventions.”
