662.116 Lard/20: Telegram (part air)
The Secretary of State to the Ambassador in Germany (Dodd)
68. Please discuss with the Foreign Office, and supplement with an Aide-Mémoire, the factual material embodied in your telegrams Nos. 91 and 94 of May 18 and 22.
You should point out that this Government considers that the figures in question represent unequal treatment of American lard imports and as such conflict with Article 7 of our Treaty of December 8, 1923. In calling attention to this situation you should express the hope that early measures will be taken to assure American lard exporters no less favorable treatment than that accorded others.
