The Acting Secretary of State to the Minister in Finland (Pearson)
Sir: The Department refers to the Legation’s despatch No. 1537 of December 18, 1929, and desires to inform you that the Department has received, from the Finnish Legation in Washington, the comments of the Finnish Government with respect to the draft of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Consular Rights proposed to the Finnish Government on August 15, 1923.4 The proposals of the Finnish Government are under consideration by the Department, and it is contemplated that a discussion of these proposals with the Finnish Minister in Washington will be initiated in the near future.
