37. Referring to my telegram No. 35, May 1, 4 p.m., inauguration of Ricardo Jiménez as President of Costa Rica will take place at noon, May 8th, and I propose participating in inaugural ceremonies as [Page 532] Dean of the Diplomatic Corps unless the Department cables instructions to the contrary.
No constitutional objections to right of Ricardo Jiménez to Presidency through procedure by which he was chosen have come to my knowledge and I concur in the general feeling that he is the only man for the post.
