New Congress convened at noon and without friction elected Ricardo Jiménez First Designate; Julio Acosta Second Designate; León Cortes Third Designate; Arturo Volio President of Congress, and by decree in conformity with articles numbers 73 (clause 8), 95, 98 and 100 of the Constitution called the First Designate to exercise the Executive power as Constitutional President of the Republic.
