Four Japanese transports arrived this morning, two full of troops and two with heavy material. They passed Woosung under protection of 16 Japanese destroyers firing on forts. Forts still in hands of Chinese replying to bombardment feebly. Planes bombing forts since 8 a.m. Japanese meeting resistance between Woosung Creek and forts. Rumor that Japanese will begin advance through Chapei tomorrow.
