The Secretary of State to the Minister in Switzerland (Wilson)

31. Department’s telegram, July 22, 1930.89 Inform the Secretary General of the League of Nations, in reply to his note of June 14, 1930,89 that this Government accepts the invitation to participate in the conference on the limitation of the manufacture of narcotic drugs to be held on May 27, 1931, and that the delegates will be John K. Caldwell, Chairman; Harry J. Anslinger (Commissioner of Narcotics); Dr. Walter Lewis Treadway (Assistant Surgeon General, Chief, Division of Mental Hygiene); and Sanborn Young, a member of the Senate of the State of California.

The Department desires that Winthrop Greene90 act as Secretary and Vice Consul Smith91 act as disbursing officer of the delegation. Names of technical and clerical assistants will be communicated later.
