118. Your 119, April 24, 3 p.m. and subsequent correspondence in regard to the Conference of Wheat Exporting Countries. Will the Conference assemble on May 18 as stated in Mr. Ferguson’s letter or on May 19 as stated in the official invitation of the Canadian Government?

Please inform Mr. Ferguson informally that the American representatives have been designated as follows:

The Honorable Samuel R. McKelvie, Member of the Federal Farm Board, former Governor of Nebraska—Delegate.

Mr. Nils Andreas Olsen, Chief of the Bureau of Agricultural Economics of the United States Department of Agriculture—Delegate.

Doctor Alonzo Englebert Taylor, Director of the Food Research Institute of Leland Stanford University—Technical Adviser to the Delegation.

Mr. Raymond Edwin Cox, first Secretary of Embassy—Secretary to the Delegation.

Please inform Cox of his designation and instruct him to attend all meetings of the Conference, to keep the Department informed through you of any important developments which may occur and to transmit any communications which the Delegation may desire to send to the Department.
