9. Your despatch 1491, February 21.37a Commercial Attaché telegraphed Commerce Department March 7 that 500 additional automobile import licenses secured with possibility of further increase later. Department is in touch with automobile interests who are interested in such developments. Legation should keep Department directly in touch with situation and in particular report promptly and fully to the Department concerning any cases of actual or apparent discrimination.
