Sir: The Department has received your telegram No. 128 of March 14, 1926, 10 a.m., in regard to the safety of American missionaries in Hainan. The contents of this telegram were communicated on March 18, 1926, to the Executive Secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, 156 Fifth Avenue, New York City, and the Board was urged to dissuade the members of the mission from reoccupying the interior stations on that island. There is enclosed for your information a copy of a reply dated March 20, 1926, which has been received from the Board on this subject.96
