The Ambassador in Japan (Warren) to the Secretary of State

62. Your 32, April 8, 6 p.m. Matsudaira68 called upon his return; spoke of this matter and said that after considering with Uchida69 he desired to take the matter up with me. Have since expressed to Uchida and Matsudaira my willingness to take the matter up whenever they are ready but Uchida has been occupied with the Diet and now is occupied with Privy Council so they have sought no opportunity to take question up.

Warren
  1. Tsuneo Matsudaira, Secretary General of the Japanese delegation at the Washington Conference.
  2. Count Yasuya Uchida, Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs.
