The Ambassador in Great Britain (Harvey) to the Secretary of State

[Paraphrase]

589. My no. 581, July 13.5 My suggestions were most cordially received by Lord Curzon who expressed most warmly his desire to help us in this matter. He is giving instructions to Hodgson, who is head of the Trade Commission leaving here for Moscow tomorrow, to do everything he can to secure the release of Americans detained in Russia or betterment of their conditions at least. Full lists and data are being supplied to Hodgson for his confidential use.
