The Secretary of State to the Minister in Sweden (Morris)
Sir: On May 29, 1918 [1915], this Department instructed you to bring to the attention of the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs the provisions of the Act of March 4, 1915, known as the Seamen’s Act, and to say to him that, pursuant to the provisions of that Act, the Government gave notice of its intention to abrogate Articles XI and XII of the Treaty of June 1, 1910 with Sweden, in accordance with the stipulations in the Treaty.72
You will please send to the Department for its files, a copy of the note which was sent to the Swedish Foreign Office in compliance with these instructions, together with a copy of the reply received from the Swedish Foreign Office.
