Sir: With reference to this Legation’s telegram No. 3224 of May 2, 1918 (Mr. Dresel’s No. 21), concerning the new lumber convention between the Allied Governments and the Swiss Government,1 I have the honor to transmit herewith copy and translation of an official communication from the Swiss Department of Public Economy, stating that the Federal Council has ratified this convention as concluded on May 1, 1918.

The Swiss Department of Public Economy to the American Legation

The Swiss Department of Public Economy has the honor to bring to the knowledge of the Legation of the United States of America that the Federal Council has ratified the convention relative to lumber, as well as the minutes of the last conference, concluded on May 1, 1918, between the delegates of the Allied Governments and those of the Federal Government.

The Department avails itself of this occasion to renew to the Legation of the United States of America the assurance of its high esteem.
