The Netherland Chargé ( De Beaufort) to the Secretary of State

Sir: I have the honor to inform you that the Netherland Government wish the Netherland steamships Jason, Cornelis, and Amsteldyk, the charters of which expire shortly, to sail for Argentine in order [Page 1489] to load there grain for the Netherland Government. These ships can eventually take a cargo from a United States port to Argentine.

I would very much appreciate if you would kindly let me know if said ships will be able to obtain the necessary bunkers for their voyage to Argentine and back to the United States.

As soon as final clearance from a United States port to Holland is granted, ships of equivalent tonnage will leave Holland.

Please accept [etc.]

W. de Beaufort
