File No. 763.72/8526

Major Grimprel of the French High Commission to the Counselor for the Department of State ( Polk)

[Translation]

My Dear Mr. Polk: Referring to the several conversations I have had the honor to have with you about the appointment of American delegates on the several committees sitting at Paris, I have the honor to advise you that the Government of the Republic again urges the appointment by the Federal Government of a representative on the Permanent International Committee on Economic Action.

The Minister of Blockade calls attention to the fact that all the Governments are represented on that committee which meets but once or twice a month, so that it is not necessary to send a special delegate.

Be pleased to believe [etc.]

M. Grimprel
