540. Your telegram No. 460, March 3 [4].1 Question of indemnity for families of victims of British bombardment still in suspense. Authorities demanded £4,000, I offered £40. Enver then suggested £100 for each victim’s family. Meanwhile English prisoners appear to have been allowed to return to Aleppo and reside there in comparative freedom.
