My Dear Mr. Secretary: When I last saw you and we talked abt the Sussex, you asked me how the crew of one German submarine may have known what had been done by that of another.
I put the question to my Govt. The explanation is that the crew captured by us navigated a submarine having the same base as the U. B. 18. They were there between the 25th and 29th of March and met during that period the sailors who had torpedoed the Sussex. The official text of the interrogatory is being sent me by mail.
