Mr. Secretary of State: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 27th instant, in which you point out that Mr. Gresham, in my interview with him of the 4th of April last, probably referred to the girls’ college of Scutari.
As your excellency now informs me that the Imperial firman concerning the above-mentioned concession, spoken of in my note of the 12th instant, has not yet been issued, I propose to write concerning it to the Sublime Porte by the next mail.
