Washington, January 13, 1879.
No. 129.]Washington, January 13, 1879.
Sir: Referring to your Nos. 215 and 268 touching the claim of Thomas W. Sparrow on Peru, I have to observe that Mr. C. G. Lee, attorney for claimant, has lately addressed the Department, urging that the matter be pressed on the attention of the Peruvian Government. I have informed him that your last dispatch on the subject gave reason to suppose that the claim would soon be settled.
I am, etc.,
Wm. M. Evarts.
