Excellency: I have a confidential communication, under date of October 29, from the governor of Colorado, respecting the postponement of the criminal proceedings against the Walsenburg Italian lynchers, the substance of which I shall be glad to make known to you at our next interview.
The governor expresses the strongest desire that the guilty parties may be punished and his conviction that the postponement is a necessary means to that end.
