Sir: I have received your No. 295 of 10th ultimo, and the draft therewith for $2,500, paid by Salvador in respect of injury to consular property at San Salvador in July 1890, and to Consul H. E. Myers in property and in person.

As I have informed the Hon. Mr. Pickler, the Department will retain as payment for the consular property the sum of $137.25 named in Mr. Myers’s letter of February 4, 1891.
