Sir: Referring to a previous instruction, No. 15, of the 5th instant. I herewith inclose a copy of a dispatch (No. 158, of the 25th ultimo), from Mr. Wallace, our minister at Constantinople, in which he details [Page 536]the manner in which he was enabled to gain the release of eleven Greeks who were imprisoned for political offenses at Constantinople. Mr. Wallace also incloses a letter from Athens thanking him for his successful efforts in behalf of the prisoners.
