Sir: I have to acknowledge the receipt of your No. 371, in which you inclose an extract from the Berne newspaper Der Bund, respecting the action of the commune of Böttstein, Switzerland, in sending to America an imbecile young woman, name not given, who had hitherto been supported by that commune; and to approve your communication of the facts to the collector of the port of New York, whither, it was understood, she had been sent.
