Mr. Blaine to Señor de Zamacona.

Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 18th instant accompanied by an extract from the El Paso Times, of the 8th of the present month, relative to certain United States reservation Indians who have committed depredations and murder in Mexico, while on leave of absence.

I have communicated a copy of your note and of its accompaniment to the Secretary of the Interior for his information and for such action as he may properly cause to be taken in the matter.
