No. 251.
Mr. Morton to Mr. Blaine.

No. 39.]

Sir: On the 2d instant I had the honor of transmitting to the Department a partial list of the gentlemen composing the different French delegations to the Yorktown Centenary. I have now to state that yesterday I received from the French foreign office a new and revised list of these delegations, a copy of which is herewith inclosed.

This list is now complete; it comprises the names of all those who will represent France at the Yorktown celebration, whether delegated by the French Government, delegated by the Lafayette family, or invited specially by the Yorktown Association. AH the gentlemen named on this list, except the members of the French legation at Washington, and the officers of the two men-of-war, the Magicienne and the Dumont d’Urville, will sail to-morrow, the 24th instant, from Havre, on board the French transatlantic steamer Canada.

I have, &c.,

L. P. MORTON.
