Sir: Your despatch of the 6th of July, enclosing a copy and translation of a statement in regard to the case of the steamer Ark, and to the delivery up by the French troops of a party of insurgent deserters to the insurgent forces in Texas, has been received.
A further inquiry will be made in regard to the steamer, and the statement concerning the deserters will be communicated to the Secretary of War for his information.
