The undersigned, Acting Secretary of State of the United States, has the to inform him, in reply, that copies of the resolutions of sympathy which accompanied it, adopted at a meeting of the Spanish residents of New York, will pursuant to the request of Mr. Tassara, be transmitted to the family of the late President and to the Secretary of State.

The undersigned offers to Mr. Tassara renewed assurances of his very high consideration.
