Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 6th instant, requesting that the Secretary of the Navy may take into serious consideration the proofs which you offer of the neutrality of the Night Hawk, and, in reply, to inform you that I have invited his attention to a copy of your note and the original register of the vessel, with the request that he may return the register after having considered its contents.
