Sir: I have the honor to enclose for the information of his excellency, Viscount Monck, a copy of a communication of the 25th ultimo from M._______, [Page 86] esquire, of Cincinnati, Ohio, indicating parties who would be likely to give important evidence in regard to the plots and hostile expeditions in Canada against the peace of the United States.

I must request that the name of the person furnishing the information may be regarded as confidential.
