The Government was officially closed due to inclement weather. The committee, therefore, met in Executive Session only.

March 4

The Committee attended a symposium on Foreign Relations, 1964–1968, volume XXIII, Congo, 1960–1968, sponsored by the Office of the Historian and the Wilson Center. Steve Randolph gave the opening remarks while Richard Immerman spoke on a roundtable titled “Challenges of Declassification and the Future of FRUS” and Robert McMahon chaired a roundtable titled “New Evidence on the Congo Crisis.”
