256. Editorial Note
On February 3, 1959, French Ambassador Hervé Alphand, British Ambassador Sir HAROLD CACCIA, and Deputy Under Secretary Robert Murphy discussed China and Korea, including Sino-Soviet relations, the recent Taiwan Strait crisis, and the question of recognition. A memorandum of the conversation, which was one of a series of tripartite talks on various issues, is in Department of State, Central Files, 700.5/2–359. It is printed in volume VII, Part 2, Document 93.
