225. Editorial Note

On March 16 and 17, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development sponsored a meeting of the principal countries providing financial assistance to India for the purpose of reviewing India’s financial problems. During the meeting, the participants, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, Japan, and Canada, indicated their willingness to contribute a total of $175 million in aid to India’s development program for the fiscal year beginning on April 1, 1959.
