UK governmental position:
a.
Command of combined forces used in Lebanon operations will be United States.
b.
For both political and military reasons United States forces should precede UK forces into Lebanon.
c.
These two points agreeable to State Dept and approved by JCS.

FYI. British suggest detailed planning should be done in Mediterranean and not in London.
