253. Editorial Note

On January 2, 1959, General Lauris Norstad, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, informed the military representatives of the Greek and Turkish Governments at NATO Headquarters in Paris that he was ready to initiate formal discussions regarding the deployment of IRBMs in Greece and Turkey.
