321. Editorial Note
On November 30, Secretary Dulles, accompanied by Milton Eisenhower, Assistant Secretary Merchant, and others, flew to Augusta, Georgia, to consult with President Eisenhower, before departing that afternoon for Mexico City to attend the inauguration of Adolfo López Mateos. In the evening, the Secretary, Milton Eisenhower, and Assistant Secretary Rubottom, who met the delegation in Mexico City, conferred with President Ruiz Cortines. On the morning of December 1, the U.S. delegation attended the the inaugural ceremony, which was followed by a luncheon for delegation members at the residence of Ambassador Hill.
