Editorial Note
On September 22, 1953, the United States Representative at the United Nations opposed the Soviet proposal (United Nations document A/2484) for inscription on the agenda of the Eighth Session of the General Assembly a reconsideration of the Assembly’s resolution of August 28. In both the General (Steering) Committee and the plenary session of the Assembly, the Soviet request for inscription was defeated by large majorities.
