Delga 183. Re Korea. USGADel advised by Commonwealth sources of following account of most recent conversation between Indian Ambassador in Peiping and Chou En-lai: Chou En-lai is reported to have said that release of PWs from American control is the important step. Chou convinced that if all PWs were released under some neutral control they would all “gradually” be repatriated. It assumed this info conveyed to Indian delegation at UN and may account in part for Menon’s present instructions and his persistent determination to table some resolution Friday.
