- In telegram 656, from Karachi, January 20, Ambassador Warren reported as follows: “Zafrulla confirmed to me this morning that Bevin and Liaquat have discussed Pakistani-Afghan relations in the course of their general review of political matters. He said that he will ask the Prime Minister to give me an answer. I think it would be a mistake should the Afghan Charge issue a press statement before the Department has a statement of Liaquat’s position.” (689.90D/1–2051)↩
