Editorial Note

The meeting between the United States Congressional delegation and the representatives from the Council of Europe was held in the Maison de l’Europe at Strasbourg November 19–23. The American delegation was composed of 14 members of the Senate and House of Representatives, viz., Senators McMahon, Hickenlooper, Benton, Green, Hendrickson, Humphrey, and Wiley and Representatives Cox, Ellsworth, Keating, O’Toole, Smith, Judd, and Reams. The 20-man delegation from the Council of Europe included 3 representatives each from the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the Federal Republic of Germany; 2 from Belgium; and 1 each from Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Irish Republic, Greece, and Turkey. Prior to the Strasbourg meeting, members of the American delegation, with the exception of Senator McMahon and Representatives Smith and Judd, visited Germany and Austria.
