Home Ministry informed Embassy of arrest managing editor Seoul Times, Choi Yung Sik, by detectives National Police Headquarters on afternoon July 16 on charges being secret member SKLP and maintaining too close liaison with UNCOK. Choi has been close friend several members UNCOK who much concerned over his arrest. Seoul Times, principal English language newspaper in Korea, has moderate, rightist attitude and is published by Min On Sik, member of one of Korea’s wealthiest families. It currently not being published, reportedly for technical and financial reasons.
