370. I now consider it timely further re Deptel 210, April 5 for affirmative reply Rhee’s request for military mission and prompt public release thereof following delivery.

There has been considerable probing regarding withdrawal by American correspondents since original leak apparently in Honolulu. So far speculation has been mainly in American circles and has not attained embarrassing proportion.
