For Cochran from Secy: Upon successful conclusion RTC, if you consider it helpful to do so, pls convey van Royen, Hatta, and Hamid as Reps of three Dels, my personal congratulations on statesmanlike manner in which conference has been conducted. I have faith in the wisdom of the course they have pursued. While fully conscious of difficult adjustments that lie ahead, I believe that conference will mark a renewed growth of friendship and cooperation between people of Neth and people of Indon, which will lead to the increasing prosperity of both. You may assure them that US stands ready to help promote that objective.
