2807. ReDeptel 1740, August 4. Text of proposal to Japanese re shipment by air of relief supplies to internees sent to Foreign Office today. No mention made of possibility of later asking Soviets for use of Soviet pilots as I believe no practical benefit would accrue by taking up this subject now.⁵³ We will do so later in case Japanese turn down our proposal.
