1666. Today’s press published on front page Ukase of USSR Supreme Soviet awarding Order of Lenin to former US Ambassador to Soviet Union Joseph E. Davies95 “for successful activity contributing [Page 852] to strengthening of friendly Soviet-American relations and fostering growth of mutual understanding and confidence among peoples of both countries”.
