The Ambassador in China (Gauss) to the Secretary of State

496. Admiral Yang, Chief of Chinese Intelligence who has been a good friend and reliable informant, stated to Counselor on March 20 that no really reliable reports had been received regarding the incident referred to in our 479, March 17, and previous, but that the planes had apparently come into Sinkiang from direction of Kobdo, Outer Mongolia.
