I wish you would tell the Generalissimo from me in confidence that a working arrangement between the Generalissimo and the North China forces will greatly expedite the objective of throwing the Japanese out of China from my point of view and also that of the Russians. I cannot tell you more at this time but he will have to take my word for it. You can emphasize the word “Russians” to him.
