Reference Department’s 171, September 24, 9 p.m.14 Information has reached AFHQ from British Ambassador in Moscow that Soviet Government has informed him that, although it is still prepared for armistice terms with Hungary to be presented to duly authorized representative, Soviet Government does not consider that General Naday possesses such authority. The Soviet Government also stated that it does not consider it expedient to say anything to Naday about possible help from Soviet armed forces against Nazis.
